Economic policy-makers are under more pressure than ever to protect and restore our environment, people are increasingly aware of the impact their decisions have on the environment, and students are questioning how they can build a greener and more prosperous economy for Canada and the rest of the world.

Exploring significant environmental issues in a Canadian context, this edition of Environmental Economics and Policy provides a well-rounded introduction to the field of environmental economics. With its strong emphasis on public policy, it explains the core concepts behind today's environmental problems and provides the foundation for solutions. Such themes as air quality management, the effects of global warming, the significance on the economy of extinction and habitat loss, and water and forestry resource limitations are explored, while the authors' extensive research and work on policy includes a crucial real-world perspective, exploring current environmental concerns and the implications on economic activity.
