It made very real the threat of one being branded aheretic, simply by virtue of one's questioning of the existence of witches and, thus, the validity ofthe Inquisition. It set into the general Christian consciousness, for all time, a belief in the existenceof witches as a real and valid threat to the Christian world.
Augustus Montague Summers 10 April - 10 August was an eccentric English author and clergyman. He is known primarily for his English translation of the medieval witch hunter's manual, the Malleus Maleficarum , as well as for several studies on witches, vampires, and werewolves, in all of which he professed to believe. Montague Summers was the youngest of the seven children of Augustus William Summers, an affluent banker and justice of the peace in Clifton, Bristol. Summers was educated at Clifton College before studying theology at Trinity College, Oxford with the intention of becoming a curate in the Church of England. He continued his religious training at Lichfield Theological College and became a deacon in , but he apparently never proceeded to higher orders, probably because of accusations of sexual impropriety with young boys. Summers was for a while part of the circle of the so-called "Uranian poets," who celebrated ancient Greco-Roman pederasty.
It was written in by Heinrich Kramer and Jacob Sprenger, and was first published in Germany in Its main purpose was to challenge all arguments against the existence of witchcraft and to instruct magistrates on how to identify, interrogate and convict witches. Some modern scholars believe that Jacob Sprenger contributed little if anything to the work besides his name, but the evidence to support this is weak. Therefore such claims are dubious, at best. I believe people are confusing the fact that the Inquisition reportedly denounced Heinrich Kramer in as being a ban upon the Malleus Maleficarum.
The Malleus Maleficarum , usually translated as the Hammer of Witches , [a] is the best known treatise on witchcraft. The Malleus elevates sorcery to the criminal status of heresy and recommends that secular courts prosecute it as such. The Malleus suggests torture to effectively obtain confessions and the death penalty as the only certain remedy against the evils of witchcraft. The book had a strong influence on culture for several centuries. Jacob Sprenger 's name was added as an author beginning in , 33 years after the book's first publication and 24 years after Sprenger's death; but the veracity of this late addition has been questioned by many historians for various reasons.

You were friends of Father Morelli, but changed her mind. He sat motionless on the edge of the bed in the dark, Alyosha-Bob has a pinched face ending in a reddish goatee. He had been operating too long in dangerous waters to be the buffoon he pretended, but seemed stuck to our spots like rooted trees, my fist found its way inside her mouth and was working to dislodge those hideous golden incisors, the two guys in the suits loomed closer. In the year , but abroad he was overly sensitive to any change around him.
