Unbelievable that trio got the contract with minimum due diligence. I actually liked this book much more than I liked the movie "War Dogs" based on the book. The movie was quite good but a little bit too fluffy. The second part of the book covered, much more seriously and in-depth, the persecution methods of the US corrupt and powerful military bureaucracy. I understand that it's easier to learn about this real story from a two-hour movie than from a book that has to be read.

This essay provides a brief overview of arms trafficking, its participants and enabling partners, and the prospects of a reduction in arms trafficking through various legal mechanisms. It looks at two prominent arms traffickers—Viktor Bout and Leonid Minin—to illustrate these discussions. The trade in arms becomes arms trafficking when the deals undertaken violate existing laws on the movement of arms. These laws usually take the form of domestic licensing requirements or international arms embargoes. Arms trafficking is a complex multifaceted crime, and it can involve numerous discrete crimes over and above breaking arms sanctions, including, but not limited to, fraud, corruption, money laundering, smuggling, intimidation, and murder.

The page-turning, inside account of how two kids from Florida became big-time weapons traders-and how the US government turned on them. Incredibly, instead of fulfilling the order with high-quality arms, Efraim Diveroli and David Packouz-the dudes-bought cheap Communist-style surplus ammunition from Balkan gunrunners. The motorcycle is back! Similar to the fresh contemporary scene that has established itself around bicycles in the last few years, the motorcycle is currently undergoing an aesthetic rebirth. A young subculture worldwide is discovering the motorcycle as an expression of its personality and creativity. The Ride explores motorcycle riding as it is meant to be: as a means of getting around with attitude, as an extension of one's own body, as an expression of personal freedom, but also as a significant challenge to technical expertise, craftsmanship, physics, discipline, and driving skill. In the motorcycle scene of s Britain, it was frowned upon to drive a motorcycle as it was produced in a factory.

Arms and the Dudes

Description Soon to be a major motion picture from the director of The Hangover starring Jonah Hill, the page-turning, behind-closed-doors account of how three kids from Florida became big-time weapons traders for the government and how the Pentagon later turned on them. Instead of fulfilling the order with high-quality arms, Efraim Diveroli, David Packouz, and Alex Podrizki the dudes bought cheap Communist-style surplus ammunition from Balkan gunrunners. The trio then secretly repackaged millions of rounds of shoddy Chinese ammunition and shipped it to Kabul--until they were caught by Pentagon investigators and the scandal turned up on the front page of The New York Times. The truth is far more explosive. For the first time, journalist Guy Lawson tells the thrilling true tale. Lawson exposes the mysterious and murky world of global arms dealing, showing how the American military came to use private contractors like Diveroli, Packouz, and Podrizki as middlemen to secure weapons from illegal arms dealers—the same men who sell guns to dictators, warlords, and drug traffickers.
